     Dennis Dean Hibbert, 86, of Paloma, died at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his farm where he was born on August 26, 1930. Dennis was a son of George S. and Oleen L. Shupe Hibbert. He married Helen Joyce Ellis on April 4, 1964, at the Detroit Christian Church. She survives.

     Mr. Hibbert was a 1948 graduate of Maplewood High School in Camp Point, 4-H leader for 25 years for the Central Adams 4-H Club and raised purebred Duroc hogs. He worked as a farmer near Paloma and was employed as the custodian at Adams Electric Cooperative in Camp Point from 1988 - 1996.

     He was a member of Faith Journey Church in Quincy. Dennis loved gardening, fishing, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family. Mr. Hibbert served his country in the U.S. Marines from September 13, 1951 until September 12, 1953.

     Survivors in addition to his wife are two sons, Douglas Hibbert and his wife Lori, Paloma, and Philip Hibbert and his wife Stacey, Paloma; a daughter, Susan Hill and her husband Tim, Quincy; and eight grandchildren, Ashley Hibbert and her fiance' Alec Davis, Rebecca Hibbert, Zach Hibbert, Alex Hibbert, Ben Hibbert, Hunter Hibbert, Kenny Hill, and Lucas Hill.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Georgeen Johnson.

     Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13 at the Faith Journey Church in Quincy by Pastor Ryan Wiemelt and Pastor Paul Lamm. Burial with military honors will follow at the Paloma Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Faith Journey Church in Quincy.

     Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Journey Church or the Quincy Christian School.
