Elda M. Balzer, 100, of the Timberpoint Healthcare Center in Camp Point, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the home.
Born October 6, 1916, in Coatsburg Elda was a daughter Fred and Carrie Coburn Balzer.
Elda attended Brushy School north of Coatsburg. She was a member of the Camp Point Assembly of God Church, was a member of RSVP for 23 years and enjoyed making quilts and lap blankets for the residents at the nursing home. She also taught Sunday School at the nursing home for 35 years.
Elda was employed in a shoe factory for 5 years and later worked at Motorola in Quincy for 26 years until its closing. She was also a Stanley Representative for 29 years.
Survivors include her nieces and nephew, Marilyn Tournear and her husband Arnold, Pat Squier, Fred Balzer, and Norma Balzer, all of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, and a brother.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 16 at the Graymount Cemetery in Coatsburg by Pastor Mike Gocke.
There is no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Timberpoint Healthcare Center Activity Fund or the Camp Point Assembly of God Church.
