Freddie Lee Hoelscher, 67, of Golden, IL formerly of Plymouth, IL died at 7:14 pm Friday March 23, 2018 at his home in Golden.
He was born on June 8, 1950 in Macomb, Illinois to Fred J. and Gwendolyn Alexander Hoelscher. He married Peggy Schone on June 9, 1984 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta, Il. She survives.
He was a 1968 graduate of Plymouth High School where he was active with the FFA. Freddie’s occupation by definition was that of farmer and machinist, but to all that knew him that would be an understatement. Freddie could do most anything he set his mind to, which included welding, blacksmithing, running his sawmill, building cars. tractors, motorcycles, and making a variety of things out of wood. He was a member of the International Kart Federation and the Heartland Garden Tractor Pullers Association. He enjoyed mushrooming, raising buffalo, listening to the Carthage Christian Radio station and visiting with his many friends.
He is survived along with his wife, Peggy, by his children; Heather Hoelscher of Carthage, IL, Derick (Brenda) Hoelscher of Plymouth, IL and Becky (Matt) Hager of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and a grandson, Evan Hoelscher.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday June 8, 2018 at the Harvest Church International (former Plymouth Assembly of God Church) in Plymouth, IL with Rev. Kevin Lingenfelter officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Harvest Church International Church or Unity Point Hospice.
