     Harold L. Taylor, 88, of Clayton, died  at 7:53 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home.
     Born March 9, 1929, in , Pea Ridge Township in Brown County, Illinois, Harold was a son of Roy and Vesta Beebe Taylor.  He married Jean Daggett September 24, 1950, at the Poe Baptist Church.  She survives.
     Harold spent most of his life working as a herdsman. He milked at Deter's Dairy and later for Shriver's Dairy. He was also employed for 17 years at a sawmill in Kansas City, MO.
     Harold loved fishing, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He served his country in the US Army.
     Survivors in addition to his wife is a daughter, Vicky Whittle, Hermitage, MO.;  a son, Mike Taylor (Julie), St. Charles, MO.;  and a daughter, Debbie Havermale (Jerry), Payson;  twelve grandchildren, Krista Smith (Mike), Jason Taylor (Danielle), Kimberly Parker, Matthew Whittle (Kelly), Gary Whittle (LIz), Cody Whittle, Dan Havermale (Jill), Susan Havermale, Paula Havermale, Jeff Havermale, Pam Fulks (Brian), and Nick Havermale; twenty three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in law, Sonny Whittle; and two brothers, Maurice Taylor and Russell Taylor in infancy.
     Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton by Pastor Larry Flint. Burial with military honors will follow at  Mounds Cemetery, Timewell,  Illinois.
     Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice  or Blessing Foundation for the Intensive Care Unit .
