Velora C. Yungman, 91, of Camp Point, died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born July 17, 1925, in Sutter, Velora was a daughter of George H. and Clara A. Wollbrink Bruenger. She married Eldon F. Yungman on January 15, 1950, at the home of Rev. L.C. Mauck in Quincy. He survives.
Velora was a graduate of Mendon Township High School and Quincy College. Mrs. Yungman was employed as an elementary teacher for Community Unit #3 until her retirement.
Velora was a member of the county, state, and National Education Associations and was a member of the Camp Point United Methodist Church. She loved her family, helping others, classic cars, motorcycling, and going on trips.
Survivors in addition to her husband are three daughters, Carolyn Freiburg, Quincy, Karen Ideus (Bob), Quincy, and Velda Robertson (Lyndel), Chillicothe, MO.; seven grandchildren; Erin (Jim) DeSena, Abby Kipley, Cory (Jamie) Kattelman, Brooke (Jeremy) Alf, Megan (Mike) Walker, Brandi (Greg) Jones, and Lindsey (Mike) Creekmore; 5 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and 7 step great granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Nadene (Wayne) Bent.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Golden.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Point United Methodist Church, IRTA Foundation, or Chaddock Schools.
