Evert A. Dooley, 96, of Plymouth, IL died at 11:30 am Thursday April 11, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born on May 4, 1922 near Tioga, IL to Leroy and Malinda Ware Dooley. He married Bernice W. Loeschen on February 1, 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Basco, IL. She survives.
Evert was a 1941 graduate of Plymouth High School. He served his country in the United States Ar Air Force from November 1942 until February 1946 where he earned several awards including the WW II Victory Medal. Evert had farmed near Plymouth for all of his life. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta, IL. He cherished the times spent with his family.
He is survived along with his wife, Bernice by 2 sons; Stanley (Joan) Dooley of Marquette Heights, IL Bryan (Jackie) Dooley of Colchester, IL, a daughter; Sheryl Sullivan of Quincy, IL, 9 grandchildren; Erica (John) Wright, Sara (Matt) Henning, Courtney (Nick) McCarty, Ashley (Ryan) Medina, Amber Dooley, Bethany (Kevin) McMahon, Nick Dooley, Matt Sullivan, Trevor Dooley, 16 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Steven Dooley and his wife Cindy, son-in-law, Andy Sullivan, 4 brothers, Albert, Otis, Raymond and Dale Dooley and 3 sisters, Hazel Reeder, Elsie Church and Lucille Burton
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday April 14, 2019 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta, IL by Pastor Rick Hertenstein. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran cemetery near Basco, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday April 13, 2019 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church.
