Julia A. Ennen was called Home on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the age of 81 years old.
Julie was born on July 17, 1936, in Clayton, IL, to Ralph and Beatrice (Vaughn) Moellring. She married Wayne Ennen, the love of her life and best friend on April 20, 1956. They were married 59 years before Wayne passed away on October 26, 2015.
Julie’s early years were spent in Clayton picking strawberries and working in the family store, Moellring Hardware. Her passion and calling was to be a nurse. She graduated from the Blessing Hospital School of Nursing and practiced in Quincy, IL, Des Moines, IA, and Tigard, OR. Julie perfected the art of giving a shot to her patients, often being called upon to use her talent to give the most difficult injections. She applied her nursing knowledge and skill for her growing family to the very end. Julie was also a licensed real estate agent in New Jersey.
Her family was the profound recipient of her love and devotion. Wayne was the focal point of her life until his passing. He always referred to her as “my precious Julie.” Together they accomplished great things, both professionally and personally. Together they travelled the length and breadth of the United States, living in many different cities in six states. They were fortunate enough to travel internationally, going to many Pacific Rim and European countries. Julie was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed making clothing and quilts for children, grandchildren and volunteered her talents making items for babies in local neonatal intensive care units.
Julie is survived by her children: Marcy Rosendale and her husband Jeff, their children, Bryan Miller and his wife Adrianna and Karie Smith and her husband Harold, Laury Ennen; and Jeff Ennen and his wife Darlene, their children, Brad Ennen and Bethany Anderson and her husband Kyle; Julie is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
A Private Family Service was held on Friday, December 29th. In Clovis, CA
Julie will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Wayne, On Tuesday January 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in South Side Cemetery Clayton, IL.
