Edith Marilyn Clark, of Golden Good Shepherd Home, formerly of Camp Point, died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday (September 27, 2017) at the home.
Born April 28, 1923 south of Augusta in Adams County, Marilyn was a daughter of Asa and Constance B. Noakes Clark.
Marilyn attended a one room grade school in Pulaski and attended Washington School near Augusta. She also attended grade school in Plymouth and St. Mary's near Plymouth. She graduated from Augusta Community High School in the class of 1941 and attended Gem City Business College. She later attended classes at John Wood Community College.
Marilyn was employed at Western Union in Quincy for one year and then was employed for 44 years at the Farmers State Bank of Camp Point.
She was a member of the Camp Point United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, financial secretary, treasurer, and a 50 years charter member of Adult Fellowship. She was a member of Alpha Chapter 109 Order of Eastern Star in Quincy, the Camp Point Lioness Club and the HCE Camp Point Day Unit. After the club disbanded she joined the Coatsburg/Paloma Lioness Club, was a charter member of Arrowhead Height Golf Course, and a former Canasta Club member.
After her retirement from the bank, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, golfing, reading, and relaxing at home.
Surviving is her sister in law, Annie Clark, Downers Grove, IL.; five nephews, Roger C. Clark, Florida, Loren C. Clark, Homer Glenn, IL., Walter D. Clark, Normal, IL., Joe M. Clark, Palatine, IL., and Jeffrey W. Clark, Springfield, IL.; a niece, Beverly (John) Burnett, Downers Grove, IL.; six great nephews, Dan Clark, Brad Clark, Walt Clark, Jr., Roger Clark III, Chad Clark, and Mike Clark; and eight great nieces, Christine Komnick, Kelly Burnett, Kate Burnett, Kimberly Burnett, Kandy Taccki, Dr. Kolleen Barnhardt, Kimberly Clark, and Annie Fricot; a special cousin, Amy Eilers, Albuquerque, NM.; and special friends, Ed and Judy Covey, Columbus, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers T. Dale, Roger C., and L. Wayne Clark.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church by Rev. Sheila Kelly. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta, IL.
Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Camp Point United Methodist Church.
