Richard W. Bush, 85, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, formerly of Camp Point died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the home.
Born June 11, 1932, in Brown County, Richard was a son of Henry and Edith Mae Carpenter Bush. He married Rosalee Scoggins on July 10, 1955, in Alton, IL. She survives.
Mr. Bush served as an Alton Fireman for many years. He and his brother also owned and manipulated Alton Well Drilling. He was a member of the Camp Point Assembly of God Church. Richard served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Bonnie Porter, Edwardsville, IL.; two grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Crawford (Brandon), North Aurora, IL., and Joshua Porter, Quincy; four great-grandchildren, Tobin Allen, Chesapeake, VA., Ethan Wayne Porter, Jerseyville, IL., Chase Crawford and Brady Crawford, both of North Aurora, IL.; a brother, David Bush, Grafton, IL.; his sister, Barbara Schreacke (Jim), Camp Point; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Jane in infancy and Mary Homan; and two brothers, Henry Louis "Bud" Bush and Leroy Bush.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Camp Point Assembly of God Church.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Camp Point Assembly of God Church. Burial with military honors will follow at Benville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
