Shirley Ann Gooding, 85 gained her angel wings on October 2, 2018.
She was born May 6, 1933, in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of the late Sam and
Evelyn Price. She married Martin Gooding on September 16, 1950. He passed away in December 20,
1992. She also spent the last 18 years with her companion Rocky Conover until
his death earlier this year.
Shirley worked at the Coach House in Quincy for 17 years. Her true joy was working the
last 26 years at Timber Point Healthcare as a Transportation Assistant. In her
spare time, she loved to play golf and play cards with her girlfriends. She also
enjoyed taking doughnuts to the workers at the golf course and having her
morning coffee with her friends.
She is survived by her children: Bruce (Jeri) Gooding of Indiana, Bob (Cathy)
Gooding, of Quincy, Colleen (Kevin) Wienhoff of Idaho and Jeff (Tammy) Gooding
of Texas. Her grandchildren, Melissa Gooding, Karrie Gooding, Jared McCullough,
Heather McCullough, Nathan Gooding, Lindsay Gooding, Thomas Gooding, Kavina
Wienhoff, Janell Kislia, Jennifer Bivens, Janae Coats, and John Nettles. She
also had 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Molly Rees, and Vicki (Kermit) Hahn, a sister in law Carol Price; and numerous nieces
She was proceeded in death by her parents: Sam and Evelyn Price, her husband: Martin
Gooding, a son: Byran Keith, three brothers: Sam Price, Marvin Price, and Ray
Price, and three sisters: Bonnie Fredrick, Annie Price, and Francis Rita
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian
Church in Camp Point by Pastor Rick Fordyce. Burial will follow at Ebenezer
Cemetery near Golden.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lummis
Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activities Department at Timber
Point Health Care or First Christin Church of Camp Point.
