Everett Ennen

1937 - 2021


Everett L. Ennen, 84, of Clayton, died at 6:29 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Timberpoint Health Care Center in Camp Point.
Born March 9, 1937, in Clayton, Everett was the son of William and Anna Hanke Ennen. He married Donna V. Moran on June 8, 1958, in Clayton. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2014.
Mr. Ennen owned and operated Bill's Welding and Machine Works in Clayton providing wrecker services to the surrounding communities until closing the business in 1988. He then worked in maintenance for the Adams County Housing Authority, Gamemasters, Gem City Ford, and Adams Telephone, retiring in 2012. 
He enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting toy wreckers. Everett served as a volunteer ambulance driver and a volunteer fireman, serving as Assistant Fire Chief for several years with the Clayton Fire Department.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Smith (Terry), Clayton; two granddaughters, Tonya Hanner (Jake), Lerna, IL. and Teresa Clauss (Jeff), Quincy; and a great-grandson, Evan Hanner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and an infant great-grandson.
Everett will be cremated. Private family services will be held at the South Side Cemetery in Clayton at a future date.

Sorry for your loss. Everett was a good man and friend. I know he helped me a few times in the middle of the night with his tow trucks, and Everett sure didn't have to either. He will be missed.
