Obituary

     Lee Harold Farlow, 92, of Timberpoint Healthcare center in Camp Point, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2020, at the home.
     Born June 25, 1928, in Quincy, Lee was a son of Robert Harold and Anna May Floetman Farlow. He married Phyllis Carol Sorrill on November 5, 1950, in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church near Liberty. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2018.
     Mr. Farlow worked as a dairy and crop farmer all of his life. He enjoyed showing cattle, served as DHIA treasurer, was a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau board, and was named Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year. He had served as a 4-H leader for 40 years and also their dairy superintendent for the Adams County Fair. Lee was a member of the Illinois Holstein Association, served as the secretary/treasurer for the Mississippi Valley Association, and served 12 years on the FSA board. He was also a 4-H softball coach (went to state).
     Mr. Farlow was a former Camp Point township trustee for 18 years, Camp Point town board member, Maplewood Alumni president, and volunteered as an ambulance driver.
     Lee was an active member of the Camp Point United Methodist Church and had served as president of the board, Sunday School teacher, and sang in the men's choir and adult choir. He was also active with Methodist Men’s Lord’s Acres (raised crops, missions work).
     In his free time, Lee enjoyed wood works, crafting, building things, and card club. As a younger man, he played clarinet in the Railroad Bandstand band.
     Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Cassens (Mark), Quincy, and Sara Lung (Ted), Camp Point; three sons, Sam Farlow (Darlene), Aurora, CO., Steve Farlow (LeeAnn), Camp Point and Stan Farlow (Dawn), Camp Point; 16 grandchildren, Brent Cassens, Suzanne Cassens, Greg (Hannah) Cassens, all of Quincy, Serena (Jeremy) Kidder, Norwalk, IA., Trevor (Marcie) Farlow, Denver, CO., Julie (Dave) Golden, Randolph, NY., April Farlow, Aurora, CO., Jessica (Jon) Pittman, Quincy, Rebecca (John) Alves, Wylie, TX., Josh (Jamie) Farlow, Santa Ynez, CA., Brittany (Brennan) Klutz, Waynesville, MO., Nathan (Samantha)Farlow, Clearwater, FL., Brooke (Dakota) Clary Quincy, Jordan (Brittany) Lung, Trinity, FL., Jared (Shelby) Lung, Ozark, MO., and Jenae Lung, Springfield, MO.; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marian Hanke and Ethel Hardy; and a brother, Dale Farlow.
     Private family services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church. A live stream of the services will be available at www.hamiltonfuneralhomes.net. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
     Friends wishing to pay their respects to Lee before the family’s arrival may do so on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church. Please bring a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines if you wish to attend.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Point United Methodist Church or the Camp Point Historical Society.
